Nate McCoy

Before joining the Lincoln College-Normal staff in 2010, Nate was a non-traditional student himself. He attended South Suburban Community College in South Holland, IL and Heartland Community College in Normal, IL before finally achieving his B.A. in History from Illinois State University in 2009. Nate’s experiences as an adult student in traditional-format programs and of working full-time while taking a full-time class load have given him a unique understanding of the challenges faced by adult students who want to further their education.

Kris Paul

I was born and raised in the LaSalle-Peru-Oglesby (LPO) area, and have been affiliated with Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC) in one capacity or another for more than 35 years. I have been a student, staff member, Counselor, faculty member, and a member of the Board of Trustees. Education has always been very important to me. When my children were young, I decided to go back to school and get my Associates, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees. The Associates degree could be completed here at IVCC, but the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees were only offered at universities, which were all at least an hour’s drive away. I drove up and down the interstates for 10 years, while working and keeping up with family obligations, to obtain these degrees. The more education I obtained, the better my pay and status in the Business world as a Human Resources Manager. I am delighted to be a part of helping to establish and grow the Lincoln College ABE program here at IVCC, so that other working adults do not have to spend their valuable time traveling to Universities. They can obtain their Bachelor’s degree right here in their own ‘backyard’!

She worked there for eighteen years prior to her current position. A life-long resident of Bloomington-Normal, she has been involved in a variety of public service aspects in Mclean County, and has held leadership positions in the Administrative/Professional Council at Illinois State University, Leadership McLean County through the McLean County Chamber of Commerce, Planned Parenthood and the Alzheimer’s disease local chapter.

Dr. Pyne is the mother of girls, stepmother to two married children, “Grandma Pyne” to Lily, and is married to Ed. Their family owns and operates THE NORMALITE NEWSPAPER GROUP, which publishes six weekly newspapers throughout the county. Together they enjoy travel to Branson and Door County, attending movies, following college basketball, and golf.
